Developing Allied Health Professionals to Provide Patient-Centric Holistic Care

Allied health professionals play a vital role in the healthcare system working alongside doctors and nurses to provide quality healthcare. However, in Asia, the demand for allied health professionals is rapidly increasing due to factors such as an ageing population and the growing prevalence of chronic diseases. Additionally, the allied health workforce is also becoming increasingly diverse and specialized, where the number of allied health professions in Asia has doubled in the last 30 years, with new professions emerging to meet the growing and complex healthcare needs of the community, which requires additional knowledge and skillsets. Happening for the second consecutive year as part of Asia Healthcare Week, Allied Health 2025 will bring together Allied Healthcare leaders along with Nursing, Clinical Operations and Patient Services leaders to explore best practices and projects for supporting these professionals in providing patient-centric holistic care for patients across the region.
