Manju Mohta

Head Of Assistive Technology Hub, Senior Principal Occupational Therapist Cerebral Palsy Alliance Singapore ( CPAS)

Ms. Manju Mohta is a qualified and registered Occupational Therapist with the Allied Health Professional Council of Singapore. She has over 17 years of combined clinical experience in Singapore and India. Currently, she leads the Assistive Technology Department at Cerebral Palsy Alliance Singapore, which provides assistive technologies to clients with physical and multiple disabilities, enhancing their functional abilities in the areas of living, learning, and leisure. Ms. Mohta leads various projects focused on design thinking, innovation, and technology. She collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, including the National Council of Social Service (NCSS), the National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP), GovTech, Engineering Goods, and ST Engineering. These projects have resulted in innovative solutions such as assistive elevator buttons, rain shields for powered mobility devices, e-bowling devices, and an Independent Living Skills Center (ILSC) at CPAS. She is a certified Assistive Technology Professional and holds a Certificate in Advanced Professional Development for Assistive Technology Applications from California State University, Northridge, USA. Additionally, she has received the Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) credential from the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA). The ATP credential from RESNA verifies her competence in analyzing and assessing clients' special needs, selecting appropriate assistive technology, and providing training in the use of these devices. As a trainer at CPAS, she has conducted numerous training sessions on Assistive Technology, Computer Accessibility, and Independent Living. Furthermore, she has served as a guest instructor at NUS, where she provided training on Assistive Technology for the CP module in the Biomedical Engineering Undergraduate Program. Her interests include assistive devices, environmental accessibility, computer accessibility, and universal design. She believes that the skilled use of assistive devices and the creation of universally designed environments can offer more opportunities for independent functioning for individuals with special needs.
