Matthew Mackay is a transformational leader at the forefront of healthcare and disability services in Australia. Respected for his innovative ideas, creative solutions and early adoption of new technologies, he consistently creates opportunities and forges new pathways with confidence and expertise in competitive environments. Matthew serves as the Chief Executive Officer at the Royal Rehab Group based in Sydney, Australia, overseeing a diverse conglomerate of public hospitals, private hospitals, supported independent living homes and disability services across the eastern states of Australia. The group includes Sargood on Collaroy, the world’s only resort exclusively for people with spinal cord injuries. Matthew is credited with spearheading advanced robotic technology in Australia and founding LifeWorks, a multidisciplinary rehabilitation centre equipped with a comprehensive suite of technologies, the first of its kind in the Asia-Pacific region. Matthew has held senior management and executive roles in the both the public and private sectors and he served as a Captain in the Australian Defence Force, with operational deployments to Afghanistan and Timor. Matthew is the President of the Australian Health Services Association of NSW, a coalition of non-government public health service providers. His adeptness at navigating the complexities of the healthcare and disability sectors makes him a respected and influential figure in these fields.
