$500 Million Canberra Hospital Expansion: Incorporating Clinical Feedback into Design
The ACT Government is expanding the Canberra Hospital to include a new emergency, surgical and critical healthcare facility at the existing hospital campus in Woden.
The nearly 40,000sqm new facility will enable a bigger, better Canberra Hospital to meet the needs of the growing city and region. It is the largest healthcare infrastructure commitment ever undertaken by the ACT Government.
The new building will include more operating rooms, more treatment spaces and more intensive care beds to expand the overall capacity of the Canberra Hospital. Construction of the new facility will begin in 2021, and expected to be completed in 2024.
Learn how the project delivery team are reflecting custom-designed specifications on the advice of their clinicians to improve safety, patient experience and the working environment. Colm Mooney, Executive Group Manager – Infrastructure and Health Support Services at Canberra Health Services, Martin Little, Project Director – Canberra Hospital Expansion Project at Major Projects Canberra and Brendan Sweeney, Regional Director NSW & ACT at Multiplex explore in more detail in this exclusive video presentation.
