Medicine globally has been slow to adopt technology. Currently there is enormous interest in big-data analytics, machine learning, AI and robotics. Some of these technologies are starting to enter the world of medicine. Robots in the operating room are now a reality and they will rapidly transform the way that surgery is performed. There is little doubt that these technologies will transform the way medicine is practiced. However, there are also some risks.
