David Hackshall is the CIO for Sonic Healthcare, one of the world’s leading healthcare providers, with a reputation for excellence in laboratory medicine/pathology, radiology, and primary care medical services employing over 40,000 people around the world. In 2023 Sonic Healthcare contributed to the medical care of over 126 million patients in Australia, US, UK, Germany, Switzerland and Belgium.

David has operated as a Global CIO in the Healthcare space for over 10 years across both Icon Group, a leading provider of Cancer treatment and Cochlear Limited, a world leader in implantable medical devices the restore hearing loss. At Sonic Healthcare, David leads a technology team of approximately 500 professionals working together to support the healthcare ecosystem. Working to bring the best possible platforms and services to medical professionals and the patients in their care.

David has a background in Finance, but also holds a Master’s degree in Information Technology Management, and MBA, both from Macquarie University Sydney. David is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and serves as an advisor to a number of third party agencies.
