Acting Chief Executive Mid North Coast LHD

Jill Wong is a highly accomplished healthcare leader, with more than 17 years’ experience across various government sectors.

Currently serving as the Acting Chief Executive of the Mid North Coast Local Health District, she oversees 7 hospitals, 13 community health centres, a range of out of hospital services, leads over 5,000 staff and manages an $800 million budget.

Prior to her current role, Jill held several key positions including working as a Lawyer with the Attorney General’s Department notably working at the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse and District Director of Integrated Care, Allied Health and Community Services Mid North Coast Local Health District, where she spearheaded the development of the state’s largest Rural Regional Virtual Urgent Care Service and continued to lead and profile the value of integrated health care, and out of hospital services. Jill also held various positions in child protection and community services across a range of organisations including the NSW Ombudsman’s Office, Department of Education and Training and Department of Communities and Justice.

A qualified Lawyer with a Bachelor of Social Work, Jill is committed to social justice, equity, continuous learning and positive workplace culture.

Jill’s diverse background has enabled her to develop exceptional skills in strategic thinking and innovation to drive transformational change, coupled with her extensive multifaceted expertise, these attributes position her as an influential leader in healthcare. When Jill is not in the office, you’ll find her exploring the beautiful beaches and surf spots up and down the coast with her young family.
