Maria Casbolt is a leader in student and staff mental health and wellbeing, bringing over 25 years of experience across government and non-government sectors. She works with schools to build sustainable wellbeing strategies that enhance systems, programs, data, workforce, and policy to support both students and staff effectively.

Maria’s expertise lies in understanding the unique strengths and challenges of diverse communities and demographics, as well as the impact of trends like social media on young people's mental health. She believes in empowering individuals to foster a sense of belonging, enabling children, young people, and families to contribute meaningfully to their communities. Maria sees building relationships based on understanding, respect, and dignity as essential to addressing these complex needs.

As Director of EmpowerED Schools-EmpowerED Students, Maria partners with schools to transform wellbeing practices through comprehensive reviews and tailored professional learning. She also chairs the Headspace Independent Consortium for Castle Hill and Parramatta, leading collaborative initiatives to address youth mental health. Maria’s commitment to inclusive, supportive environments empowers students and staff to thrive and flourish in all aspects of their lives.
